I have recently decided that my old friend, Writing needs to come back into my life. I'm no good at journals because pen and paper in this new age have been outcasted and made necessary only for "the doodle". I have thus decided to try a blog, and see if I'm any more faithful to it than my old ruddy notebook. I cannot guarantee that my entries will be worth reading, or even mildly entertaining, but I am hoping that this blog will treat me well and aid in rekindling my relationship with words. While I'm not sure I want this to be about me, I guess I should at least make introductions and compose updates to begin with. From here on out, I'm thinking this blogspot may just become my canvas for poems or what-have-you. I suppose I should first explain the strange name. Unless I'm a complete stranger to you, you know about my love/passion/obsession with music in general, more specifically lyrics and even more specifically, Andrew McMahon: Singer/pianist/songwriter extraordinaire for bands Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin.
So what do you get when you cross a Mannequin with a McMahon? A McMahonnequin. And there that is.
On to the bigger and better. As many of you probably know, I have a one year old son, Landon. He is both a blessing and a handful! He is walking now, and getting into eeeeverything!! He is also beginning to speak and has such an incredible understanding. It seems like he knows just what I'm talking about when I ask him to do something, or even just make mention of it. He LOVES his blanket and his teddy.. also his Elmo. Besides talking and walking and making big messes, the boy can wash his own hair! I love him muchos and enjoy watching him learn and grow every day.
A little about me... I have been focusing most of my attention on just raising Landon, but within the next few days will be beginning work at a chiropractic office practicing massage therapy. MMMMHHMMM. I know you want my hands.
I love to read, write, listen to music, spend time with family, play card and board games, give and get massages... among other things. I am a very passionate person. I pour my heart and soul into most everything I do. I love the English language. Like most of the people in my family, I'm a grammar nazi and I have a hard time when people spell poorly or mispronounce certain words. I love learning new words and I find it very satisfying to manipulate them so I can express myself. I'm hoping for a positive experience out of this blog... time to see what happens!!
Love, Monica

You're cute!! I need to see you again!
Well, I'll admit that I was a little hesitant to write anything because I was afraid of embarrassing myself with poor grammar or spelling...but I thought I'd let you know that both you and your son are adorable! Thanks for sharing!
You go girl, best of luck in your new blogventure!
